Safeway, Lowes, Albertson’s, Petco

Safeway–saved $112, which sounds awesome, right?  Except I still spent $200!  I did get my free Uncle Ben’s rice, a travel sized Pert shampoo for free, a ton of meat at decent prices, and stocked up on cheese, bell peppers, and potatoes.  I shoot for 33% off of my groceries through sales and coupons, and I got 34%.  Good deals:  5 boxes Betty Crocker potatoes for .50 each, 2 boxes Toaster Strudels for $1.38 each,

Lowes–$10 free stuff from a coupon

Petco–saved $30, including $4.04 of free treats from the “treat bar.”  Thanks to the friendly manager (student’s parent), one coupon went through fine, even though it was a little vague on what it covered.

Albertson’s–saved $40, got 10 snack sized bags of Cornnuts Chips free, and Small Steps toilet paper free.  I did have to visit customer service to get money back from some fajita steak strips that rang up as chicken and $1 more and still missed that they charged $1 more per pound for asparagus than advertised.  I hate that.

Both freezers are totally full, and I have lots of ideas for upcoming meals:

Ham and Tortellini pasta salad, Steak Fajitas, Grilled Steaks and mashed potatoes, Shrimp Fettucini Alfredo, Lasagna and salad, loaded baked potatoes, country style ribs and rice, tacos, Caribbean Jerk pork chops and scalloped potatoes….mmmmmm
